Residential Trips

We will be returning to Dean Field Study Centre again next year.

The Dean Field Study Centre is based at Parkend in the Forest of Dean.  It is a residential outdoor eduction centre owned and operated by Bristol City Council.

As an outdoor education centre it provides adventurous outdoor activities and environmental education.  Activities include rock climbing, abseiling, mountaineering, hill walking, caving, canoeing, kayaking, raft building, zip wire and high ropes course, gorge walking and orienteering.  Many of these outdoor activities, including problem solving, involve teamwork as well as individual challenge.

Teaching spaces include a fully equipped classroom, lecture room and laboratory plus, of course, the woods, fields, rivers, lakes and villages of the forest.

The forest is a place of great natural beauty and provides an extraordinary variety of opportunities for outdoor and environmental education.

There are 36 places available that will initially be offered to Year 6 pupils.  If places still remain we will then offer them to Year 5.

There is a camp meeting for Year 5 & 6 pupils on Tuesday 28th February @ 1:30pm.

There will then be a camp meeting for Parents/Carers of pupils in Years 5 & 6 on Tuesday 28th February @ 3:30pm in Hedgehogs Classroom.

Letters will be sent home on Friday 3rd March.
